U8 Program

DEVELOPING SOUND FUNDAMENTALS AND A PASSION FOR THE GAME.

OVF Alliance hosts a U8 Pre-Competitive Program in Corvallis and Albany as a way to introduce young players to the game with great coaching and lots of fun! We are always looking for players who have a passion for the game, a great work ethic, and a competitive nature.  Our coaches use proven methods in child development such as guided discovery to help players learn and retain skills in a fun and engaging environment. This program takes a holistic approach to introducing youth in to the game of soccer and prepares them for their competitive soccer journey.  All dedicated players are welcome on our U8 Pre-Competitive Program to begin their training for competition soccer. Don’t miss this opportunity to kick-start your child’s soccer journey with OVF Alliance!

This 8-week program is for those looking to help prepare their players for a competitive soccer experience. Competitive soccer starts at age 10 but we want to ensure that players who are on that path have the opportunity to have the best preparation possible. These training sessions are run with the focus of skill development and technical training. During the season, trainings will happen twice a week in Corvallis or Albany depending on which community's program suits your needs better. OVF Alliance runs this program twice a year with a Spring Season April-May and a Fall Season September-October. 

At the end of this 8-week program we will have an in-house tournament where teams will be formed to compete and showcase the development of their skills. The purpose of this tournament is to celebrate the players that have worked hard all season and to encourage their continued growth.  Awards and prizes will be handed out to all those participating. 

*Players in the U8 Pre-Competitive Program do not yet compete against other soccer clubs in the region, as the focus for these players is to develop their skills so they can begin that process in the U10 Pre-Competitive Program (see below). This is not a recreational program where set teams will be formed for a season of games. If this is what you are looking for, we recommend contacting us so we can direct you to one of our recreational soccer partners.

Times: 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Dates: 4/3 - 5/29 (no training on 5/20)
Location: Mid-Willamette Family YMCA

Spring Tournament

Time: Starting at 9am

Cost: $150 / season or $275 if you register for both at once
