Pre-Competitive Program

OVF Alliance is the only full service soccer club in the greater Willamette Valley that utilizes an integrated club model which requires the use of standardized curriculums, coaching methodologies, and a unified style of play that emphasizes purposeful possession. This creates a clear path and progression for all of our players from 5 years old through to our high school-aged teams.

OVF Alliance's Pre-Competitive Program is a community based developmental program with the goal of providing young players the skills, techniques and abilities to get a jumpstart on their competitive soccer journey. We host programs in both Corvallis and Albany that each use a unified and standardized curriculum overseen by the OVF Alliance senior coaching staff (Directors of Coaching & Technical Directors) to ensure players are receiving the same instruction. Our program is further divided up into a U10 and U8 program to provide each stage of a players development the appropriate focus to help them progress towards true competitive soccer. 

U8 Program

DEVELOPING SOUND FUNDAMENTALS AND A PASSION FOR THE GAME.

OVF Alliance hosts a U8 Pre-Competitive Program in Corvallis and Albany as a way to introduce young players to the game with great coaching and lots of fun! We are always looking for players who have a passion for the game, a great work ethic, and a competitive nature.  Our coaches use proven methods in child development such as guided discovery to help players learn and retain skills in a fun and engaging environment. This program takes a holistic approach to introducing youth in to the game of soccer and prepares them for their competitive soccer journey.  All dedicated players are welcome on our U8 Pre-Competitive Program to begin their training for competition soccer. Don’t miss this opportunity to kick-start your child’s soccer journey with OVF Alliance!

This 8-week program is for those looking to help prepare their players for a competitive soccer experience. Competitive soccer starts at age 10 but we want to ensure that players who are on that path have the opportunity to have the best preparation possible. These training sessions are run with the focus of skill development and technical training. During the season, trainings will happen twice a week in Corvallis or Albany depending on which community's program suits your needs better. OVF Alliance runs this program twice a year with a Spring Season April-May and a Fall Season September-October. 

*Players in the U8 Pre-Competitive Program do not yet compete against other soccer clubs in the region, as the focus for these players is to develop their skills so they can begin that process in the U10 Pre-Competitive Program (see below). This is not a recreational program where teams will be formed and a season of games will be played. Corvallis: Mondays and Wednesdays 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm, 9/9 - 10/30
Albany: Tuesdays and Thursdays 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm, 9/10 - 10/29

Albany: Mid-Willamette Family YMCA

Ages: 5-7

Cost: $150 / season or $275 if you register for both at once

Players in the U10 Pre-Competitive Program begin to compete regionally against other soccer clubs from Eugene, Salem, and Bend to give our players their first experience against outside competition.

This 8-month commitment for our U10 teams includes two 8-game league seasons (Mid July-Mid Nov. & Feb.-May) with 2 practices per week as well as possible friendly games and tournaments during these timeframes.

Based on ability, work ethic, and availability, U10 players may be invited to play in special tournaments or events that combine the top players from each community program as the group prepares to make the move to our U11 Competitive program the following year. During the seasonal year, some U10 players may also have the opportunity to train and play up with our U11 teams.
